About the Conference
The department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, will host the national conference on Recent Advances in Materials Processing and Characterization for sustainable development of materials from March 13-15th, 2026. Conducted in hybrid mode, the event encourages both onsite and online participation to ensure broad accessibility and collaboration. The conference aims to bring together scientists, researchers, and industry experts to discuss recent innovations in materials processing, characterization, and sustainability. About the Department
Founded in 1960, the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering has grown with diverse specialized fields such as Materials Technology, Foundry Technology, Iron and Steel making, Computational Materials Science with AI and Machine Learning, and Mineral Beneficiation. Since 1995, Materials Engineering has been a key part of our curriculum. We offer B.Tech (Hons) and M.Tech programs covering areas such as Physical Metallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Material Processing, Surface Engineering, and Waste Management. Strong industry partnerships provide students with valuable hands-on experience. Our graduates excel in manufacturing, R&D, consulting, and academia, driven by a commitment to innovation, research, and ethical engineering.
